Lol

League Of Legends.

The new game that I'm addictive too, and the main reason why I havent been playing EvE much lately. I'm on a kinda semi break.

Alot of people in Python have been playing it recently, and as a result our EvE corp activity has dwindled abit. But Python is more than just a corp. We play alot of other games together.

Anywho he games alot of fun (tho very harsh a newbie, tho if you played HON or DOTA its suposed to be alot easier to pick up, I never played either).

So if you too are bored of getting blobbed by russians, give this game a try.

Oh...

and its FREE TO PLAY!

The Great Python Named and Shamed: Vol 1

Hear' ye! Hear' ye!

Attention to all ye' who shalt hear! there hast been a great failure within the ranks of the MIGHTY band of ragtags known to all as the Python Cartel.

It has been decreed that all shalt hear of this failure.

T'was just last night that a Pirate known as Gallabella lost his mighty Ishtar class Assault Cruiser in the line of duty! But oh' the Horror! The Ishtar was fitted with a dishonourable warp stab.

Let it be known that Gallabella shalt not go unpunished! Tis' a crime that deserves justice! and justice shalt be served! In addition to being demoted to deck scrubbing duty, for no less than two months, Gallabella shalt also be receiving many years of hearing the phase "LOL REMEMBER THAT TIME YOU FIT WARP STABS ON YOUR ISHTAR!"

A suitable punishment indeed! May this serve as a warning to all who would fit warp stabs on thier vessels. There can be no greater dishonour!

Your top 5 ships... ever!

So after reading Mail Lites blog post, I've decided to do something similar. These are my favourite ships in EvE:

#5

The Rapier/Huginn

I used to fly this every single time on a roam. Its just so dam awesome. Its mostly used as a scout/tackle ship and it pairs very very well with an Arazu/Lachesis. I like the green engine exhausts on the Huginn, and I wish CCP put them on the Rapier.

The Rapier is flown by our super efficient scout Necio. Some say he's actually a Rapier IRL.

#4

The Crusader

I haven't got to fly this ship much yet, as I was only able to get in it two days ago. But so far its been pretty cool, its a great tackler, its speedy, and it looks god-dam-sexy.

I have always wanted to fly one after seeing Golden Helmet fly one back in the old days of Python. He used to fly nothing but Crusaders. Did I say fly? I meant, he used to die in nothing but Crusaders.

#3

The Sabre

Its basically a shiny Thrasher on steroids, but its one of the most fun ships in the game at the minute. Its fast, has huge alpha (when fitted with arties) and looks like a mini Cyclone. I actually fly these in low sec, fitted with no tank, just arties and speed. Their great, but cost a bomb... so I don't fly them as much as I'd want too.

#2

The Tempest

Awesomest of the awesome its the Tempest at #2. This is my most used ship and I use it for literally everything. Its just so versatile! You can fit it for Sniping, DPS, Nano, Passive shield tank, Passive armor tank with RRs, active shield tank, active armor tank AND you can PvE in it. You just never know what to expect from a Tempest

And it has sails. Every pirate needs sails.

#1 THE BESTEST SHIP OF THE BEST BESTEST BEST EVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD OF EVE EVER.

The Tempest Fleet Issue.

Of course! The only ship that could possibly be better than the Tempest is another Tempest! With improved sails and even more rust... it is to me: The Greatest ship in EvE!

Size matters

Behold, the biggest penis in the Galaxy, with a girth of over 50km wide and a length of 200km (including the balls!).

Thanks to Golden Helmet for not ADD-ing out and ERECTING such a display of Python spirit.

Tickets to visit this spectacular monument are now on sale. For only £1million isk, made payable directly to "The Python Cartel." (don't forget the . ), you can gaze in awe and wonder at this magnificent sight.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! It wont be long till the fascist Dev's at CCP dissemble this mighty monument to the male reproductive organ.

DISCLAIMER
The payment of one million isk must be made upon entering Resbroko. Failure to do so will result in your ship being targeted and maybe destroyed.

Oh, and even if you do pay for tickets. Your ship will also probably be targeted... and maybe destroyed.

SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED.

Some people dropped points for a target painter, and one of us was actualy flying a Lachesis for the awesome point range.

As always we headed for faction war land in the search of a blob. Our first stop was Auga and.... it was empty.

Our second stop was Houla, where we managed to get a warp in on some Geddon sparing with his friend in a Macherial. The Macherial managed to get out of range, but the Geddon died quickly as he was in low armor thanks to his friend.

We also got into a little fight on the gate where we killed a Stabber and a Crusader. But still, nothing really exciting. So I decided to do our favourite trick to getting a fight. Head to Amamake, smack in local for abit, and hope that someone gets so pissed at us they formed a gang to kill us.

In Amamake we arrived, and the smack began;

40 minutes we waited. 40 minutes of constant smack, and even with 30-50 people in local nobody would fight our 8 man gang sitting in the top belt.

With everybody getting bored we figured we would just head home, where we had heard about a EvE-Uni Carrier sitting outside our home station. For those unaware what EvE Uni is, its basically an EvE training corp. It has alot of members but most of them are clueless with very poorly fit ships. They do seem to throw thier ships at anything that moves (alot like we do) so we thought maybe we could get a decent fight out of them.

We arrived in Resbroko to see a cyno up outside the station. We warped to the cyno, and quickly dispatched the Merlin that was being repped by a Thanatos. I told everyone to just aggress the Thanatos for lulz, and we did. His shield slowly went down and as it was about to enter armor, a Revalation Dreadnought undocked.

"Just Keep moving, it wont be able to track you" said Golden Helmet in his sexy pre-pubescent voice.

We did keep moving, and GH was right! it couldn't really track us. Then to our complete surprise, the Carrier entered Triage! WTF! he wasn't even repping anybody! I decided to get my Niddy and I told everyone else to get in something abit more BEEFY with some Nuetage.

As I undocked I noticed a small local spike of about 5-10, so I decided to not aggress for now. Just in case. Checking scan every few seconds, we saw nothing but a bunch of frigates on scan. I told everyone to keep shooting the Thanny. What would a bunch of Frigs do against BS's with a Carrier repping them?

Then local spiked again.

By 120.

With local now at 150 we decided it would be a very good idea to simply de-aggress. Even if they were in frigates, that is still alot of DEEPS.

They wasn't in frigs tho, they were in BS's, Dreadnoughts, BCs and other assorted ships. When they landed they all began shooting my Carrier. I wasn't aggressed, so I could dock at any time, but I stayed out long enough to keep a few of our guys alive long enough for them to dock. Luckily, they focused most of their attention on me, so it was quite easy.

Our corp docked up and I followed soon after with nearly all my armor on my Carrier blown away.

HOLY BLOB BATMAN! (Thanks Inka for the ss)

All was well. Tho for some reason Super-Jaxx decided to would be a good idea to try and tank 150 pilots with his Ishtar. Needless to say, it didn't end well. He ended up losing his Ishtar.

And his pod.

Twice.

I love you Jaxx.

You mad You gay?

So a long time ago, a guy called Griznatle used to be in the same corp as us. Readers of Spectre's blog may remember him. For those who dont know him, basically hes the most annoying shit in the entire of EvE. Doesn't post his losses, constantly talks over people, screams on vent like a girl and pretty much just thinks he's the proverbial shit. When in reality hes the worst player in EvE who has never got a solo kill in his life. After he left the corp, he joined Heretics, then Advocates of Sin.

Anyway! History lesson over. Today we went on a little roam down to good ol' Amamake in a bunch of tanked battlecruisers. We decided to simply just sit in the top belt and wait for the blob. Sure enough, the blob came in the form of Minimatar faction warfare and with a few losses we destroyed nearly thier entire fleet.

There was much rejoicing, and as we were about to leave the belt, and return home, an Armagedden belonging to Advocates of Sin warped in at zero. I was FC again, so I just told everyone to cancel thier warps and kill the Gedden.

We opened fire.... and in came the blob + ECM. They claim to be "pro-pvpers" in thier corp description, yet they just smash a bunch of battlecruisers with a bunch of battleships and ECM. Not to mention a gang boosting titan at a pos nearby.

But its cool. We all blob sometime, and we all want the killmails. So off we went home in our pods.

When we got home Twicedasize came up with the idea to camp our new High sec gate in Resbroko. It was pretty queit, but we did manage to get a few kills.

We were sitting in our ninja when our cloaky falcon on the gate told us that there was a blinky Advocates of Sin Maller on the gate. I warped my shiney new Vigilant to the gate, followed by the rest of the gang and proceeded to tear the Maller a new one.

His tank was good, and as he hit armor.... he lit a cyno!

I immediatly told everyone to get the hell off the gate, and get the hell off the gate we did... in came the Titan bridge. In came the battleships and.... nothing. They managed to point nobody and we all managed to get out without even a scratch.

Smack ensued:

Fleet Commander Andrea Skye.

When I first joined The Python Cartel. I pretty much accepted the fact I'd never FC a gang. I always used to let Golden Helmet or Inertial do it. They would lead us all to death and glory in our T1 frigs and we would return home in our pods quite happy.

Recently tho, most of our regular FC's have became slightly inactive. This is a problem in any corp, as most decent gangs need an FC to keep everyone organised during fights/roams.

So, the past few weeks, I have been kinda pushed into the FC role. Mostly because everyone else is lazy as shit, or too drunk to speak properly over the comms.

My FC-ing has actually been pretty terrible. Half of the time we all end up dieing fiery deaths, and the other half the time we end up not getting a fight at all.

Well last night, I was once again pushed into the FC role, and we set out to roam around our rather quiet area. We were flying a pretty mixed gang, of Battlecruisers and T2 cruisers. Half were nano-ed and half were not. I explained to those who were not nano-ed my current track record, and told them that they were most likely going to be blown to a thousand pieces. But they wasn't phased... they simply just told me to hurry up and get the roam started!

So off we went. First we went off to Gademon, where our nearest neighbours hang out. They are called The Alpha and the Omega and we have have some pretty decent fights with them in the past.

With our Scout bot 9000 series Necio's voice exhibitors offline (his microphone was broke), Golden Helmet was set as role as scout, in what was actually MY Rapier. I had told him to be extra careful with it, as it was really well fit with a Faction disruptor. I knew as I was saying "DON'T GET IT BLOWN UP PLZ!" that is was a futile task. Golden Helmet is a solid pilot but hes also the most suicidal person in EvE. He would cyno his Carrier into a fleet of Dradnoughts just get a Bantam kill.

Anyway, GH scouted around looking for something to crush just ahead of us, and sadly found nothing but a Myrmidon and Harbinger, sitting on a high sec gate, who jumped the moment they saw us.

So I told everyone to set their destination to another system nearby called Antem, where a group of pilots live belonging to Chains of Chaos alliance (CoC from now on. Yes, their really called CoC)

Along the way we saw a Myrm and a Hurricane who also jumped back into high sec the moment they saw our numbers in the local channel. I hate high sec PvP'ers with a passion.

We continued to Antem and once we arrived we set ourselves up on the Antem gate. We sent Golden Helmet in to look around and tried to lure CoC out for a fight. While we were waiting on the gate a CoC catalyst jumped past us and saw everything we had.

CoC would no doubt gather the blob and my suspicions were confirmed when one of our scouts noticed a large CoC gang right behind us. I quickly decided that fighting them on a gate on the home system would be pretty stupid, so we decided to simply get out the way before the BS gang arrived and flattened us.

We quickly got out of local and headed further down the pipe. But while we were jumping we noticed that the CoC gang were following us. Quickly assessing the situation I figured that if we sat on the gate as they jumped though, got into our optimal ranges... we would have a decent advantage, as they would all be spread out and unable to remote rep, and we would be in perfect position to at least kill a few of them.

Their scout jumped through into us and quickly cloaked in his bomber. We waited a minute or two, and to our joy we saw the gate fire and local spike a little. It seemed the trip from Antem had actually spread them out a bit, giving us even more of an advantage.

Primaries were called the CoC ships started to explode One by One. First went one of the bombers who warped in abit to close, next a Dominix, then a Mega. We were losing our non-Nano ships as they made an easy Primary sitting right next to the CoC gang. My Gila was pretty safe, and I easily outrun a bunch of Ogre IIs that someone had put on me. I tried my best to keep up with Fc-ing and call both secondary and primary targets while keeping my ship outta harms way.

CoC kept sending more people, only to be destroyed by our now mostly nano gang (non nano-s were already dead) and we slowly picked them off. Eventually CoC decided to cut their losses and de-agress, then jump back into the previous system escaping.

Overall we lost 6 battlecruisers and killed 12 ships, 4 of them Battleships and one Ashimmu. We were slightly outnumbered and had smaller ships than CoC but somehow we managed to hold the field in the end. The amount of loot we received afterwards covered most of our losses with insurance so it really wasn't so bad.

My Fc-ing it seems has gone from getting the whole gang killed, to only getting HALF the gang killed. Definitely an improvement! :D

PS. I forgot to turn on fraps (seem to do that alot)

Nice tower... we'll take it!

It was a pretty normal night. We were camping our gate in our system and in all honesty it was pretty dead. There was hardly any traffic and we spent most of the time mocking Twicedasize's HIC skills... or lack of them. (Love you still Twice). When Apoctasy noticed the corp mute, Inka.. typing messages in one of our Intel channels.

I glanced down at my screen to read it:

"...Tower un anchoring... Dread Gurista large... estimated cost... 1.5 billion!... unattended!..."

Huh what, their must be some mistake. Our gangs interested shift from taking the piss outta Twice to the 1.5 billion chunk of space trash that appeared to be only 3 jumps away.

We quickly, abandoned the gate camp and began to make our way to Jeni. I was in a Tempest with a GCC and going unscouted. I was in a gate camp fit too, no MWD or prop mod.. if I got caught on the gate I was toast, slightly risky... but in this situation, definitely worth the risk.

We arrived in the system expecting to see the owners of the tower there ready to defend their 1.5 billion isk asset... only to find a lone Bustard Transport ship on scan, and nobody else in local. OK...

My alt in a Prowler transport jumped in and made her way to the tower. As she landed, it un anchored and I scooped it. No problems...

That was Easy!

Maybe abit to easy.

We all decided to get out of the system asap and quickly made our way back to Ami. My alt following closely behind the gang. We thought our luck couldn't get any better... We had just lifted a tower worth 1.5 billion with little to no hassle. Split 5 ways we would make about 300 million each. Not bad for 5 minutes work.

But our luck did get better.

On the way back to Ami we came across a lone uncloaked Proteus jumping the opposite way to us. As it jumped through the gate Inka got a point and needless to say... it died horribly. We scooped the loot and eventually made it back to Ami intact. We later sold the Tower for what it was worth and added a nice little layer to each of our wallets.

Thats what I love about EvE. One minute your sitting on a gate, passing the time, hoping for a juicy Frieghter or Navy Megathron to jump through, whilst getting bored out your wits and the next your hitting the Jackpot and killing T3 ships :D

FACEPLANT vol.2

So the much loved Spectre3353 is finally back playing again. While nowhere near as much as before due to him being a huge vagina... but at least hes back!

His "first" night back resulted in the killing of Ken Plante. You may remember him from a while ago when we assassinated his Proteus after 3 hours of waiting and nearly a month of planning. But you can read about his new face plant here.

I missed it! :(

Ken is the guy standing ontop of the box thing. Every time I watch that video, it reminds me of Kenny. He acts all big and bad, attempts to show off and... fails. :D

Post EvE related!

Epic fights!

"Domi in a belt Skye, wanna kill it?"

It was Twicedasize. I had just logged on the change a skill... but Domi in belt!?

Why not? I thought to myself.

I quickly changed to my Rapier and fleeted up with Twice and proceeded to scan around the system to try locate exactly where this Domi was. We scanned him out a few times, but to our dismay he always managed to warp out just as we were about to land. It was always a seemingly random belt too, so we could predict where he was going to go either.

We was about to give up, but then Twice noticed a few other ships on scan. An Onyx, Broadsword and a Rook. They were in the same corp as the Domi pilot and usualy in this situation we would of just left it at that and docked up. But a new guy to our corp WNKyle wanted to join us.

He wanted to help kill the gang that was in local. He was in a Nano Harbinger and Twice was in a Nano Ishtar. So the plan was made. I would tackle them with my Rapier whilst staying outta of neut range, then Twice and Kyle would smash then with drones and scorch.

The gang appeared to have stopped moving and now were just sitting in a lone belt in system. So off we all warped and the fight began. For some reason, the Rook cloaked at the start of the fight about 70km away and remained cloaked for a good while.

We nanod around trying to split them up but they were sticking together. They would never stray to far away from each other and the heavy missiles from the onyx and the Sentry drones from the Domi were really starting to hurt my Rapier. Eventually I had to warp out at 10% armor (not good in a Rapier that has only 600 structure HP or so, and shield tanked :D ). Kyle and Twice were still sticking around tho, so I decided to go switch ship and get something that can point from really long range.

I switched to my super secret Nano Arazu and warped back to the belt. With this fit I could go nearly 2k m/s and point from 60km. Seemed like the perfect ship for the job. The only problem: No damps!

As I landed, Kyle had to bail also. The Drones and heavy missiles were starting to get the better of him so off he went leaving just me and Twice in the belt. I uncloaked and pointed the Onyx. He was closest to Twice but still 50km from me. The only problem was now, is that the Onyx had a MWD. We had no webs and Twice's sentries couldn't track it. So Twice had to use medium drones which the Onyx easily tanked.

Soon they again switched primary to me, Kyle had landed back in the belt after regenerating some shield but again, the drones and Heavy missiles were really starting to hurt. I tried to get a bit more distance from the Onyx but his range appeared endless. At one point I was 110km from it and the missiles were STILL hitting me. I eventually had to bail nearly in structure again...

I had had enough of dicking around. I had had enough of being squatted with drones and missiles so I again decided to switch ship .Twice and Kyle kept them busy and I docked up and fetched my triple rep Myrmidon with boosters to boot.

I warped to Twice and this time it was Twice who had to bail due to low armor. Twice followed my example and went to fetch his own Myrmidon. I landed right next to the Broadsword. The Domi was a good 60km off, and the Onyx was about 30km away. The Rook was still cloaked somewhere in the belt for some reason or another so I decided to get a point on the Broadsword as it was closest.

I burned towards it and got a point and a web. Twice announced he was undocking as I launched my drones and set them on the Broadsword. Like all HICs, his tank were pretty good, and my drones and ACs were barely doing enough damage to break his tank. They couldn't break my tank either tho, and I was good aslong as my cap boosters lasted.

Twice and Kyle landed again and soon the Broadsword started to drop. The Domi warped out to warp back to his friend in an effort to try get closer to us to use his neuts... which would be really bad for me being in an active tank ship. So I screamed for Twice and Kyle to "OVERLOAD YOUR SHIT!" The extra damage helped to get past the Broadswords passive Regen.

As it was about to bleed into armor the rook uncloaked and warped to his friends from 150km away. I found myself jammed and unable to keep a point. Twice also announced his was jammed and I groaned to myself.

Fucking ECM.

But it was to late for him. The drones wern't jammed. They continued to do damage and with the help of Kyle the Broadsword exploded. We were about to turn our attention to the Onyx when the Dominix landed again. He turned his attention to me and noticed my cap starting to get sucked away.

"Dominix is Primary!" I cried.

I had one cap booster left and was being neuted to hell. My armor was dropping and I figured it was all over for me. I overloaded my guns in an effort to break them, but as I did I noticed the Dominix was actually double rep fit. He was neuting, Scrammed/webbing and Repping all at the same time. His cap wouldn't last long if he carried on like that. knowing this, I aligned myself to an asteroid on the other side of the belt and started to spam the warp button.

Then, for reasons I'm still not sure the Rook and the Onyx warped out and ran away...

Out of cap charges, into structure I went, followed by the Domi who was also about to go into structure. If it carried on like it was I'd die first, the Domi has alot more structure than I did... But I wishfully kept spamming the warp button in the hope that the Dominix ran outta cap and lost his point.

Warp warp warp!

I hit about 40% structure and my ship lost a lock on the Dominix. For a second I thought I'd died and went to open my char sheet to check the loss mail. But I realised I wasn't dead. I was in warp. the Domi had lost point and I was free! I couldn't believe it. I sat there for a few sec stuck amongst the roids and watched as the Domi blew up in the distance. Awesome! Nothing like ending a fight on fire, with no cap charges left and your guns burnt out :D

The whole fight lasted about 20 minutes and kodos to "No Code of Conduct" for bringing the fight in the first place.

Apoctasy says: OMW

After that epic fight of awesomeness we decided to get a gang together and go roam around our new area. The gang consisted of ME (Gila), IEATCRAYONS (Fleet Stabber and yes, he really eats crayons), Wohenmang (Dramiel) and 00sage00 (Scimatar). The whole area was pretty dead and one hour in we had only killed a lonely Hoarder moving around some junk. After that we were joined by Sean Dillon (Scimatar) and Jaxxon Voers (Huginn)

We were about to turn back when Crayons told us there were 6-7 battleships, including a Armageddon Navy Issue, in the system ahead apparently shooting a POS. After a quick talk we decided we would go play with the battleships but we would keep range just in case they had a bunch of neuts.

As we was about to send Wohen in to get a point. Apoctasy logs on.

"Sup" he goes

"Bout to get into a fight actually"

"wait for meeeee! I gotta falcon!"

He was 13 jumps away. But a falcon would be very handy in this situation. The enemy gang had a bunch of geddens with a Navy Gedden and all of them packing scorch would be very nasty to us, all being in nano ships. If Apoc could come and fit a bunch of Amarr jammers.... maybe we could gank a couple of BS's without actualy losing any ships...

So we decided to wait for him. We called Crayons back from scouting as we didn't wanna scare them away.

We spent the next 15 minutes it took Apoctasy to reach us formulating the perfect plan to kill these guys. We had planned to send Wohen in first, tackle the navy gedden, then send in Apoc to jam whatever he could. Then we would warp the rest of the gang in and slowly pick them off one by one.

The plan we good, and when Apoc arrived we all got on the gate to the system they was in. In went Wohen and to our dismay...

... they had left local.

God dammit Apoc.

Because Jaxx told me too.

My blog doesn't get "that" many readers, and most of the readers are already in my corp. So this bit seems rather pointless. But because Jaxx told me too here it is:

Break Times!

Past few weeks I've grown increasingly frustrated with EvE. I like to solo PvP, and in EvE atm, its not exactly the best thing to be doing.

Everything you attack is bait, you basically have to assume your going to be fighting more than one target. Which not only cuts your target selection down considerably, it also means you die a lot. I previously made a post where I mentioned about nano-ing. Well, even that's getting difficult to do now, as people seem to be flying with anti nano ships alot more than before (Rapiers, Curses, Sniper ships and scrambling frigs that don't lose point even if you neut them for a hour)

Then there is the corp activity. Python always seems to go through hot and cold phases, and at the minute it seems were going through a cold phase. A lot of what makes EvE fun is the people you play with, so its one of the main reasons I've decided to take a "semi-break".

I thought about leaving Python and joining a corp where stuff is always happening... but I quickly realised that Python is really the only corp I want to play with. There is no other corp like it, and the people we have gathered pretty much all share the same sick sense of humour and laid back attitude.

There is also the fact I'd have to "start all over" get to know everybody again, and earn every bodies trust.

Hopefully when I get back to my 23/7 playtime schedule again, Python will be in a HOT phase AND my carrier training will be finished/near finished. So I can start skilling up for new fun ships (Like a Crusader.. or a Succubus, I always wanted one of those.. I just need light lasers and Amarr Frig 5!) :D

So by "Semi-break" I mean I'm going to cut my playtime drastically. I will still be playing, but nowhere near as much. I will probably just log on for pre-arranged ops and when I have nothing else to do.

And for the record... I wont be playing WoW!

Love/Hate. PICK ONE!

I hate EvE..

..When you get two volleyed by a 2 month old player in a Hurricane, auto piloting to gate with 3 Tech 1 drones.

I love EvE...

...When you get awesome hate mail after killing someone:

Hi Andrea,

Enjoy the expensive loot.

I thought I liked that name when I saw it on the local, sorth of peacefull sound to it.

Here is my post for your enjoyment

*KM LINK*

I dont understand why it took 6 of you to get rid of me, but for someone with no honor, that means nothing right?, is just a bloody game after all.

Please pod kill rather than just going for the loot. Sad. Is that the way they teach you at home?

Is honorable to go home that way. To die..

Thanks,

Followed by

Next time finished what you started. like a good fuck, is never left unfinished.

Killing militia for the fun of it is no honor and worst alone.

Six against me? OVERKILLL You patethic bitch.

I hate EvE..

...When you get podded because your overview closes itself. Due to frantically clicking the GTFO button.

I love EvE..

...When you actually get a really good fight. Even if you get killed in the process.

I hate EvE...

... When your told by a Russian guy to get a bigger ship to kill his Hurricane, so you get your Lachesis, go to the belt. Kick his stupid ass, till he reaches structure... then he warps a Falcon alt/friend in... and then jams you and the Cane warps away.

I love EvE..

... When something you took part in gets mentioned in the news.

I hate EvE..

... When you get scrammed.

I love EvE...

... When you scam somebody for 700 million isk in one go.

I hate EvE...

...When high sec status PvPers sit on a high sec gate, acting all big and bad bragging about how big thier genitals are... and then jump out the moment you attack them.

I love EvE...

... When you get out with 2% structure from a fight where you thought you was toast.

Do I love or hate EvE? I actually don't know!

Ms paint... like a pro!

So sometimes I make MS paint pics and their never actually meant to be any good, just slightly humorous and for a bit of fun.

So when I saw this pic, I felt it deserved its own post. I did not draw it. It was a guy from our corp who I actually hardly know. Vranz Drooshka

Anyway, you can see what my portrait is supposed to look like in the top right hand side of my blog. Here is this guys pretty awesome attempt at drawing it, using MS paint:

Just wow!

(I particularly love the censored part)

EDIT: I just allowed Anonymous comments on all posts. maybe ill get spammed, but we will see :P

Scram range = dead range

So here I am, flying 20 jumps back home in my pod. Why is that?

Because I suck.

No I really do. the past few weeks I've been flying nothing but Nano ships. For those not familiar with what a Nano ship is. Its a ship that's fitted for speed and long range damage. You sit outta "scram range" and kill the other guy before you run outta cap (due to MWD usage).

Ive been quite successful "Nano-ing" recently. Ive taken on much larger ships/gangs and actually won, or at least managed to drive them off. But the best thing about Nano-ing is that you can nearly always escape should the proverbial shit hit the fan.

There are situations of course where escape isn't always possible. For example, Rapiers webbing you, Nueted by a Curse, scrammed by a frig while being jammed by a Drake (Yeh, seriously), scrammed by a frig while his Scimatar buddy keeps him alive from 50km away... But most of these situations can be avoided if your smart/cautious.

Unfortunately for me, I'm not very cautious.

A really good example of why fighting in scram range is a really bad idea while soloing just happened to me.

I was out roaming in my Claw. I haven't flown the Claw in a real long time and it was quite refreshing to fly an interceptor again. I roamed pretty far, as it was the early morning, and ended up in a system I used to visit often. Dantumi.

Now in one of the belts I spot a named Thorax. I normally wouldnt engage a Thorax at all, but this guy is ratting... has his name on his ship (which is generally considered to be a bad idea) and after a quick check of his info I see hes only a few months old.

OK free kill.

I warp to the belt. There he is, at zero shooting the rats. I immediately tackle him and begin to fire. The thorax pilot doesn't do much at first..

"Perhaps he thinks I'm a rat?" I thought to myself.

I continue to fire while orbiting as close as I can. The Thorax enters armor... then he decides to lock me. He releases some Valkyrie Is ands send them to attack me. They don't hit me much, I'm small, fast and they cant track me very well.

I'm still pretty confident I can win until the worst possible thing happens. He WEBS and SCRAMS me, and a quick check of my combat log I see hes started firing light blasters at me.

After that, I'm toast. Nothing I can do now. My MWD is shut off, and hes faster than me. I feebly try to get outta of his blaster range. But its way to late. My ship exploded and I'm riding home Pod style.

There was no way I could of known he had those, and in a ship like a Claw there is only one way to find out for certain. That's to get in scram range and hope for the best. that's all well and good, but when you see that 90% of all ships sitting in a belt alone is bait... well you get the idea...

Now there are a few ships that can fight in scram quite successfully while still having a chance of escape if things go bad. Like the duel prop Taranis. But not every ship in EvE has the ability to fit both a MWD/AB with a point at the same time.

What bothers me, is the fact that CCP when they first introduced the scram/web changes (Scrams never used to shut off the MWD, and webs were 90% slowing effect) they said they was because they wanted to give players more of an option when their webbed. They didn't want the players to think "Oh, that's it I'm webbed... no escape now..". The web nerf was a good thing, but paired with the scram buff... I think it's made the "Oh shit, nothing I can do here" scenario even worse.

I suck because I knew this before the Claw/Thorax fight even started.

There is only one way to fly now, While soloing or in a small gang.. and that's Nano. The only solo interceptor worth anything is a Taranis. I wont be flying a scram range fighting ship for a long long time.

Smack my bitch up!

First off, I've played quite a few online games, and EvE is probably my favourite out of all them. Its the one I play most.

The past few weeks, Ive noticed something while playing EvE.. that is... I smack.

I don't just mean, I smack sometimes... I smack at every opportunity. I get a kill, I smack. I die, I smack. I wait for some dudes docked up in the station to come out and play... guess what? I smack.

Some people might not know what smack is.. (in other games people dont call it smack) So heres an example:

(Read this thread to understand what we are on about)

[18:00:57] A1eksandr > Ñ…
[18:01:10] DAX ZAIR > Smiley
[18:12:56] Andrea Skye > Okay so i read these forums alot and it never cesses to amaze me that so many so called 'pirates' think there bad ass PVP experts becuase they can put 10 ships on a gate and pop anything that comes through
[18:13:09] Lars Lodar > lol
[18:13:16] Battle Dog > wow you can copy and paste arnt you clever
[18:13:21] Lars Lodar > rubber neck thread is da best thread
[18:13:50] DAX ZAIR > forum freak
[18:13:55] Andrea Skye > Proper PVP experience comes from finding and catching your targets and manipulating situations so you have the advantage before the first shots are even fired.
[18:14:01] Andrea Skye > yeh
[18:14:17] Andrea Skye > what about when target TELL you where they are, and you still pussy out anyway
[18:14:19] Andrea Skye > is that pvp?
[18:14:29] Lars Lodar > Cheesy
[18:14:39] Battle Dog > lol you dont even have a fucking clue
[18:14:44] Lars Lodar > was was the KB efficiency again skye?
[18:14:52] Lars Lodar > like 2%?
[18:14:54] Andrea Skye > pretty sure i have more kills than your entire alliance actualy
[18:15:44] Andrea Skye > as i said before thier about as effieceint as a chocolate teapot
[18:15:47] Codi > shit, where did these nublets come from, i thought we already flushed the toilet?
[18:15:53] Andrea Skye > and by effieceint i mean, fucking useless
[18:16:10] Lars Lodar > I think I was their only kill against us
[18:16:18] Lars Lodar > and the gate gun got me in a kitsune
[18:16:20] Andrea Skye > dammit lars!
[18:16:21] Lars Lodar > Sad
[18:16:26] Lars Lodar > I'm sorry baby
[18:16:30] Lars Lodar > I'll be good next time
[18:16:56] Andrea Skye > your a bad bad boy
[18:17:44] Lars Lodar > please don't spank me again

Now this is weird for me because in every online game I've ever played I've always been polite and a good sport. If I lost I'd tell them well played and if I won I'd be very modest and wish them better luck next time.

It wasn't always like this in EvE either. I used to be polite here too. I used to exchange "gf"'s and frown upon the people who talk crap in local.

Ever since I've joined this new version of Python its got progressively worse. I don't really know what has caused it... maybe it was hanging around with Spectre3353 to much (he smacks worse than I do, believe it or not) or maybe it was because of the way Python just honestly doesn't care about anything but having fun... or maybe I'm just a huge jerk.

Hell, maybe its a combination of all of those!

I don't know.

But what I do know... SMACK IS FUN..

Do you smack? I'd like to get other peoples thoughts on this..

Lost in a strange world.

"only 2 more badges for my trinket" I thought to myself. I had spent weeks saving up enough Frost emblems to have enough to buy it. One more herioc and it was mine. Finally.. it would be mine!

****

"SKYE WAKE UP!"

What? Who was Skye?

"SKYE! THERES A FUCKING CARRIER IN A BELT!"

I quickly woke up. The hell? What a strange dream. I was someone called Tiffan and I was something called a Deathknight. What the balls is a deathknight?

I Got out my bunk and gathered my senses. Did someone mention a carrier in a belt?

I went down to the cockpit of my Cynabal and it all started to come back. I remember now. I was in a Python gang and we was out roaming. I must have fallen asleep while waiting out GCC. Hmm.

"So wheres this carrier again?" I asked

"According to Hellcats comms, its in Okkamon" Said Crayons.

That's only two jumps away! before I had even voiced my opinion that we should get in there and rip him a new one, Helmet had already given the order to get our asses there. Reckless... but I didn't care. If it went bad then I would be relatively safe in my Cynabal. Everyone else would die and I would just Nano away to safety.

I quickly got my self to Okkamon and was ordered to just go straight to the belt. No scouting to see what was going on? No, of course not... this was Golden Helmet in charge.. who gives a balls about Intel?

While we were in warp I noticed Helicity in the Hellcats comms channel. Bargaining a temporary truce with the guys who had the Carrier tackled. I hope to god they accepted, I was about to land and I had no idea what to expect when I did.

As I landed I quickly took note of the situation. A bunch of Guristas associates had the Carrier tackled with a bunch of BCs and cruisers. They had killed a bunch of drones and there was a wreck belonging to a Drake in the belt. They had it by the balls, but they couldn't quite break his tank.

My gang landed next to me, and I decided to play it a little cautious. Pirates were Pirates after all. The Guristas could well just shoot us and get themselves a couple of kill mails + a carrier kill and keep all the loot.

I set my orbit to 20km and activated my guns, carefully watching every TGA ship in the belt. If I got locked I was ready...

Some time passed. TGA hadn't shot any of us yet. The carrier was dipping into armor. I decided to just risk it and get in close. I set my ship to approach and loaded up my most damaging (but also worst ranged) Fusion ammo.

The damage difference was quite noticeable and a couple of minutes later the Carrier exploded and local erupted with my fellow Pythons war cries...

"PENIS!"

"PENIS!!!"

"penis"

"P3N15!"

Ah yes. Penis.

I quickly got my ship outta range and docked up. Just in case TGA did anything funny. They hadn't shot us so far.. but like I said earlier.. they were pirates.. just like me... and they were capable of anything.. just like me.

I went back to my bunk and drifted back off to sleep.

Whats this? A post?!

Why hello there my fellow compatriots. This is indeed a post and it is indeed on my blog.

As you may know I went away to play WoW, but here I am, back again... playing EvE. It was "inevitable" after all. So without further ado, here's a little story about what happened just a couple of hours ago.

NBSI

NBSI. Or for those not familiar with the EvE acronyms, it means Not Blue Shoot It. Which in our corp (the glorious The Python Cartel) it means you can shoot pretty much anything, because we have very very few blues, which means we have very few friends outside of the corp. Some might say were like the North Korea of EvE.

A few days ago, a pilot of ours, Apoctasy, decided to leave the corp for reasons of his own. This is fine by me, if your not having fun, or wanna try something different then more power to you. Apoctasy is a really cool guy and Ive flown with him alot of times. We killed loads of things together and had alot of fun.

Anyway today we were gathering the guys together to start a gate camp in our local system. Everyone else undocked and warped to the gate ahead of me, as I had to refit my ship. That ship happened to be my beloved Tempest, and since I've recently just gained the skilled to use T2 large artillery... well that means Ive stuck T2 Large artillery on pretty much every ship that can fit them.

So lagging behind the others, I finally get the permission to undock. As I begin to align to the gate I notice a hauler undocking too.

"Great, a chance to test my 1400mm's again"

As I start spamming the lock tab on my console, I notice the name of the pilot... Shaka Laka... an alt of Apoctasy, which he uses to move his ships around. Obviously he was moving his gear to his new home.

Now I'm faced with a tricky dilemma. On one hand its a free target, He isn't blue, and he probably has a ton of cash in there. On the other, if I do kill him, he will probably never talk to me again. It only took me a few seconds to make the decision however, and it resulted in this.

I called out on our comms channel for somebody to grab the loot for me. As my ship was rather quite fragile with this setup, having no tank whatsoever. Spectre3353 answered my call and quickly scooped anything of value from the wreck just before Apoctasy could try to salvage anything from it, in his nice shiny Reaper.

The Hauler was worth over 200million isk and I didn't feel even the slightest bit bad until Apoctasy came onto our comms channel and asked why the hell I blew up his hauler. I didn't quite know how to respond and I just mumbled something about him being a "free target". Soon after that Apoctasy's friend, Twicedasize, came onto the comms and also voiced his opinion. Apparently I was a jerk for blowing him up. Twicedasize is in our corp at the moment, and Ive also flown with him alot of times.

Am I really a Jerk? Or was it just a fair game. What would you have done?

Given the same choice again.. I don't think I'd have done what I did...

This time I'd have podded him too.

Payback is a bitch... and so am I!

Firstly Id like to say welcome back to an old friend who has come back to Eve after recently escaping a Gallentee high security Prison camp. You can read about his escape here: http://evenewb.blogspot.com/. This is the same guy who inspired this very blog, so welcome back Spectre3353!

Floating lazily in my Rupture, waiting for something worthwhile to kill is how I spend alot of my time in EvE.

Once again I was in Mara, and I was seeking out a Maller. I seemed to keep missing him by a few seconds. It was during one of those close encounters I saw his name on my overview. The name seemed familiar, so I did a quick check on his public records but I couldn't seem to place him.

He was part of one of the training Corps that capsuleers are thrown into when they first become pod Pilots, but I knew I had seen him somewhere before. So I checked our corporations Kills log, which records any ships we destroy or lose.

"Voila!", there he was... It appears he was part of a gang that "baited" my corp mate just the day before. Hmm..

Mallers are great bait ships, as they can withstand alot of punishment. I paused a moment from chasing him and considered my options. This guy is probably bait, so it would be wise to back off no? I didnt know what kind of gang he could be flying with either.. so its probably best to leave him be. Let some other unfortunate soul be victim to the "bait in Mara" trick...

But no.. once again I start to hear a voice in the back of my mind..

"You could kill him before his mates arrive.."

Could I?

Well, there's one way to find out I guess. So shrugging of caution, which seemed so easy to do recently, I set a course to a belt where my scanner had him pinpointed.

Sure enough, he was there. I landed right next to him and quickly began to lock him only for my computer to say:

"NOTIFY: Your attempt to target Maller failed"

A few months ago, I would of started to panic, but I kept my head and gently pressed target once more and waited. You see, I had discovered that this is a bug with some ships computers. I'm not sure what causes it, but if you continue to spam the target button after you get this kind of error. You will never be able to target as the computer just keeps restarting the targeting process. If you press it once and just wait however, even tho it doesn't appear to be targeting, eventually you will get a lock.

And a lock I got. The shield on my Rupture was at half power now, but I was armor tanked so it didn't really matter about my Shields. I opened fire and quickly evaporated his shields under a hail of machine gun fire. I knew that the Maller was also armor tanked just like I was and once I started to do damage to his armor I groaned a little... His armor was stupidly strong and I contemplated trying to escape... but my readout showed that I still had a little sheild left.

His damage was pathetic. So I forgot all thoughts of running away and continued to rain 220mm rounds upon his hull. I knew if nothing changed I would win... but something did change. Just as his armor was starting to take some real damage a Moa warped in, who I knew was with him as he was part of the corp that had killed my corp mate.

The Moa quickly locked me and I was trapped. With no hope of escape I did what I usually do when there's no hope of coming out of a fight intact.. I overloaded my guns and fought on. If I was going to get destroyed I will take one of them with me. The Maller was starting to buckle under the extra pressure, but so was my Rupture. The combined damage from both of their ships was really starting have an impact.

I kept firing, my armor holding... barely. The Maller began to take structure damage, and a few seconds later so did I. I closed my eyes and waited, I heard an explosion followed by another. My pod shot out into space and I quickly warped it out of the belt. Looking back I saw the Maller had been destroyed too, and I felt good that I had taken at least one of them with me.

I went back to passari and quickly jumped in my Vagabond. The Vagabond is my favourite ship when it comes to engaging multiple hostiles and I wanted some revenge.

So I went back to Mara ignoring the sentries that started firing at me as I got to the gate. I jumped through and warped to a safe spot, and I noticed that local had started to fill up. Checking the scanner I saw that several ships were located in the same direction.

Arbitrator, Vengeance, Manticore and two Mallers. Checking the ship names I saw that one of them was the Moa pilot from before, he must have changed ships. Without thinking I set a course right for them and I landed in the belt just as most of the gang had warped off. But there was one still here, alone and not moving. It was the same guy who had killed me in the Moa just moments before. I saw RED.

I turned on my microwarp drive and sped towards him. He was in a Maller this time and I quickly caught up to him and locked and scrambled him. I emptied my drone bay and sent my drones to attack the Maller. I Kept my distance as any good Vaga pilot does and watched as the Maller helplessly tried to close distance. He didn't have any speed mods and was covered in armor plates. He had no chance of catching me.

He was going down pretty fast and a few moments later his friends started to arrive. I overloaded my guns, and continued firing. A Vengeance landed just as the Maller was going into structure and it started to speed towards me. I toggled my MWD on as I knew I got webbed it would be all over. I was going out of range of the Maller now, but my drones continued to attack him. I saw the Maller explode in a bright orange fireball and turned my attention to the retribution. We was quite far from the Arbitrator and the other Maller now and the Retribution Pilot must have understood the situation. I saw him align and warp out just as I was about to get a lock. Cursing, I headed toward the Arbitrator who also warped out, followed closely by the Maller.

My ship slowed down and I calmed down and and savoured the feeling. I scooped the Maller loot to my cargo hold and decided to wait out my timer in a secluded part of the system. Its a great feeling when you destroy someone who had destroyed you just moments before and I recommend it to anyone. So next time you get killed and want to get revenge on someone. DONT pay mercs or some other gun for hire to do it for... do it YOURSELF! its a much better feeling when you do so, and alot more fun too!
